Constable Country Suffolk

Set within an area of outstanding natural beauty just two hours from London & The Midlands his rural landscape was where the painter John Constable was born and where he painted this most celebrated works.

The area is full of picturesque villages, rolling farmland, rivers, meadows, and ancient woodlands.

Constable grew up in East Bergholt, a village nestled in the Stour River valley of Suffolk County in the southeast of England. The rustic countryside was dominated by the meandering waterway, which had been made navigable for barge traffic in the eighteenth century.

The tour visits places associated with Constable plus much more.

Constable country whilst known as Suffolk also stretches into parts of Essex such as Colchester
